What we build

useToolCraft brings together tool profiles, workflow guides, a task-based finder, and Stack Builder. Recommendations use catalog information and your inputs. They are starting points to test, not guarantees of compatibility or results.

What we measure

Operator Reliability Score (ORS)
A hard 0–100 formula on every tool profile — production stability (30%), pricing transparency (25%), API rate limits (25%), and documented failure density (20%). Same inputs, same score. Editorial fit (1–5) is separate. Full equation published at /how-we-vet-tools#operator-reliability-formula.
Estimated costs
Stack Builder adds estimates from broad catalog pricing bands. These are planning ranges, not live vendor quotes. Check current plans, seats, and usage-based fees with each provider.
Production failure modes
Profiles document rate limits mid-batch, webhook loops, credit burn, and edit burden on client-facing output — the failures directories skip because they only demo in sandboxes.

Who it is for

Freelancers, solopreneurs, and small teams choosing tools for recurring work: following up with leads, creating content, serving customers, or onboarding clients. Start with one task and a small test before automating the whole process.

What you can use today

  • Stack Builder

Pick a job to be done, add tools into a pipeline, export JSON or markdown. Saves locally — no account required.

  • Tool profiles

Compare catalog descriptions, pricing bands, editorial scores, and setup guidance. Check each profile’s sources and dates.

  • Curated stacks

Editorial core + supplementary picks with stack-level reliability scores.

  • Vetting methodology

How we re-test, how ORS is calculated, and how we handle affiliate bias.

The bar we hold ourselves to

Reliability scores are editorial assessments. Profiles may use category-based estimates where direct inputs are unavailable; these are not uptime measurements. Pricing bands are estimates, and a catalog date does not mean every product was re-tested on that date. Verify the current vendor terms and test a small workflow before making a purchasing decision.
